Slow Motion Video

Slow It Right Down

Have you ever wanted to slow down your camcorder video? And keep the sound at normal speed? Slow it right down, so that you can view your video (or a downloaded instructional video such as guitar-playing, for example) and retain the normal sound speed and quality?

If you could do that, then you could really study your videos in slow motion, perhaps to use them as a learning aid. How about taking a video of yourself playing piano, or dancing, skating, perhaps performing magic tricks – or martial arts. Then you could play them back in slow motion to see how you can improve – but still hearing the sound at normal speed.

I think you can do that now. Taking the guitar as an example, the software enables you to ‘loop’ the difficult bits of a teach-yourself-video, then slow the video down. Yet still keep the musical pitch. The guitar on the video will still play at normal speed, so you can jam along at a speed that suits you. Pieces that were previously ‘too difficult’ become easier to learn.

Slo-Mo Director is the program I am talking about. It was developed by a guitar teacher, hence the emphasis on learning guitar, but the verasatility of Slo-Mo Director allows for so many other possibilies. If you want to take a look then click here.
